Publication Steps and Peer Review
Humanities & Natural Sciences Journal
Humanities & Natural Sciences Journal welcomes original manuscripts within its scope. Submissions undergo editorial screening and scientific peer review before a publication decision is made.
1. Submission and publication stages
- Submission: Send the manuscript to info@hnjournal.net, following the journal template and author guidelines. Provide all authors’ names, institutional affiliations and countries, and identify the corresponding author.
- Initial editorial screening: The editorial team checks scope, completeness, originality, and compliance with research and publication ethics. Missing information may be requested, or a manuscript may be rejected before peer review with reasons provided.
- Peer review: Manuscripts that pass screening are referred to independent subject specialists to assess originality, methodology, findings, and scholarly contribution. Review reports provide recommendations that inform the editorial decision.
- Revisions: Authors receive review comments and submit a revised manuscript with a point-by-point response within the deadline specified in the editorial correspondence. A justified extension may be requested. Further peer review may be required.
- Final editorial decision: The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision to accept, request revisions, or reject, considering the review reports, manuscript quality, and compliance with journal policies. The decision and its reasons are communicated to the author.
- Acceptance letter and publication fee: An acceptance letter is issued after the final scholarly acceptance decision. The standard publication fee is USD 70. Any applicable financial arrangements are communicated before payment. Fees are requested after scholarly acceptance; payment does not guarantee acceptance or influence editorial decisions.
- Production and publication: Editing, layout, and author details are finalized. Authors have an opportunity to check the final version before publication. The article is published in the designated issue once requirements are completed, and a publication certificate is sent after the article becomes available on the journal website.
2. Editorial oversight and independence
The Editor-in-Chief oversees evaluation and holds final decision-making responsibility. If the Editor-in-Chief is an author or has an interest or relationship that could compromise impartiality, they recuse themselves. Evaluation and the final decision are assigned to a qualified independent editor without a conflict of interest. Editors and reviewers must also disclose conflicts and recuse themselves where necessary. The publisher and financial considerations do not influence scholarly decisions.
3. Timelines and author communication
Expected timelines and required deadlines are communicated to authors. Review duration varies with the subject, reviewer availability, and extent of revisions, and more than one review round may be needed. The journal does not guarantee completed review or acceptance within a fixed period. Authors are informed of material updates and may request a status update by email.
4. Research integrity requirements
Manuscripts must not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere. Authors must disclose funding and conflicts of interest, accurately identify contributions, and provide ethical approval and informed consent, or documented exemptions, where applicable. A similarity percentage alone does not replace editorial assessment of originality.
5. Enquiries and appeals
Enquiries or reasoned appeals may be sent to info@hnjournal.net with the manuscript title, correspondence details, and supporting evidence. An editor independent of the decision under appeal reviews the appeal. Submitting an appeal does not guarantee a different outcome.
