Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the reality of teachers’ use of modern assessment methods and its relationship to the quality of education in secondary schools in the Al-Shaghur region from the perspective of school principals. The study adopted the descriptive correlational approach. The study population and sample consisted of all secondary school principals in the Al-Shaghur region, totaling nine principals, including seven males and two females. A comprehensive census method was used due to the small size of the study population. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers developed a questionnaire consisting of 20 items distributed across two main domains. The first domain included 10 items measuring the reality of teachers’ use of modern assessment methods, while the second included 10 items measuring the level of educational quality. The validity of the instrument was examined through content validity and construct validity using corrected item-total correlation coefficients. Its reliability was verified using Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient. The findings showed that the level of teachers’ use of modern assessment methods was high, with an overall mean of 4.13. The level of educational quality was also high, with an overall mean of 4.08. The results further revealed a strong, positive, and statistically significant relationship between the use of modern assessment methods and the quality of education. In addition, no statistically significant differences were found in the participants’ responses regarding the two study variables according to gender, years of experience, or academic qualification. In light of these findings, the study recommended continuing to promote the use of modern assessment methods, diversifying assessment tools, expanding the use of formative assessment, feedback, self-assessment, and peer assessment, organizing professional development programs for teachers, and strengthening the role of school administration in supporting assessment practices that contribute to improving the quality of education.
