direction:ltr;'><strong>Abstract: <\/strong> The purpose of this study is to evaluate the educational interventions provided by therapeutic trips on promoting psychological and social adjustments for children with cancer living in Palestine (the 1948 territories). A mixed methods design using a quasi-experimental design was used for the study. There were two groups in the study, an experimental group experiencing a therapeutic trip and a control group not experiencing a therapeutic trip. Questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with students, parents, educators, and medical professionals were used to gather data for both groups. Results showed statistically significant differences between experimental and control groups in terms of psychological and social adjustment, psychological resiliency and academic quality of life favoring the experimental group. Moreover, the researcher found that there were no statistically significant differences related to gender, age, or length of illness. The qualitative data supported these results as well, it implied that the students experienced greater independence, better social skills and greater motivation to learn than their peers. The researcher concluded that educational interventions via therapeutic trips can be an effective method for providing psychosocial and academic support to students with cancer.
