drafting of legislation is what is now commonly termed \u201clegal drafting.\u201d Muslim scholars paid early attention to this field long before the emergence of modern forms of codification used to regulate such relationships, including constitutions, statutes, and similar legal instruments.\r\nThis study aims to uncover the approach of early Muslim scholars who were concerned with legislation and its methods in the articulation and formulation of legal rulings, relying on the Qur\u2019anic method in this regard. The Qur\u2019an was revealed, first and foremost, as a source of legislation, and it is distinguished by a legislative methodology suited to every time and place. Moreover, it is the primary source of legislation for Muslims and is held by them in the highest sanctity as the word of God, Glorified and Exalted be He.\r\nThe study adopts an inductive approach in collecting the Qur\u2019anic verses that illustrate the Qur\u2019anic method of legislation, then analyzes the meanings of these verses in order to identify the legislative features they share in common. It also refers to the views of early scholars in explaining the Qur\u2019anic method of legislation. Through all of this, the study seeks to benefit from the Qur\u2019anic legislative method in order to derive guiding principles for legal drafting.\r\nThe study reaches several conclusions, most notably the necessity of examining the Qur\u2019anic method of legislation because it contains foundational principles that can guide the expression of various human relationships and the clarification of the rulings governing them.
