direction:ltr;'><strong>Abstract: <\/strong> This study aims to investigate the phenomenon of dogmatic substitution and its aesthetic manifestations in Kharijite elegiac poetry during the Umayyad era by tracing the semantic and functional transformations that affected the elegy within its Kharijite context. The study proceeds from the premise that many previous approaches have treated Kharijite poetry mainly as a historical or political document, without giving sufficient attention to its artistic structure and aesthetic and stylistic dimensions. The study adopts an integrative analytical method that combines description, structural and psychological analysis, and stylistic criticism in order to examine the poetic images and doctrinal patterns that contributed to transforming elegy from a discourse of grief and loss into a committed mobilizing discourse. The study shows that Kharijite elegy did not remain confined to lamenting leaders and warriors; rather, it became a means of consolidating the doctrine of \u201cself-selling\u201d or \u201cspiritual purchase,\u201d whereby death for the sake of principle became an act of salvation and a promise of ultimate victory in the Hereafter. The study also reveals the presence of the \u201cmonk-warrior\u201d duality in the portrayal of the Kharijite elegized figure, as poets combine bodily emaciation resulting from fasting and night prayer with courage and ferocity on the battlefield. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that elegies for leaders contributed to the construction of a missionary model that transcends the individual person and comes to embody the principle and the doctrine. Female elegy among Kharijite women also represents an early form of committed literature, in which the pain of personal loss is intertwined with political incitement and the call to continue the revolutionary path.
