<\/strong> This study examines the phenomenon of silent pragmatics in classical Arabic political discourse through an analysis of Al-Batraa Sermon attributed to Yazid ibn Mu\u2018awiya as an applied model that reveals the effectiveness of silence, omission, and implication in producing meaning and guiding the recipient. The study proceeds from the assumption that what remains unsaid in discourse does not represent a semantic gap or a mere absence of speech; rather, it constitutes an intentional pragmatic tool that contributes to constructing the communicative purpose, managing psychological influence, and controlling possible paths of interpretation. The study adopts an analytical pragmatic approach, drawing on Speech Act Theory and Conversational Implicature, while linking them to concepts from classical Arabic rhetoric, particularly omission, allusion, and conciseness. It seeks to distinguish between grammatical omission, rhetorical omission, and pragmatic omission, and to clarify the particular role of each type in meaning production. This framework is then applied to the structure of political discourse in Al-Batraa Sermon. The analysis shows that the sermon employs silence, omission, and implication as indirect discourse strategies that contribute to presenting the image of a just and wise ruler, avoiding explicit reference to sensitive political issues, and engaging the recipient in completing the meaning and inferring implicit connotations. The study also reveals that silent pragmatics gives political discourse greater persuasive power, as it turns the recipient into an active participant in constructing the message rather than a passive receiver. The study concludes that silent pragmatics represents an important approach to analyzing Arabic political discourse, both classical and modern, because it uncovers hidden mechanisms used to guide public opinion and shape mental images.
