direction:ltr;'><strong>Abstract: <\/strong> This study aims to examine the most prominent misconceptions raised concerning the authority of the Prophetic Sunnah and to refute them through a scholarly approach grounded in the methodology of hadith scholars in criticism, analysis, and verification. The study begins by clarifying the status of the Prophetic Sunnah as the second fundamental source of Islamic legislation after the Holy Qur\u2019an, and by presenting the evidences for its authority from the Qur\u2019an, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the Muslim community. The research adopts the inductive method in collecting texts related to the authority of the Sunnah and the misconceptions raised about it, the analytical method in examining these misconceptions, and the critical method in discussing and responding to them. The study addresses four major misconceptions: the claim that the Qur\u2019an alone is sufficient without the Sunnah, the claim that the recording of the Sunnah was delayed, the claim that the presence of weak and fabricated hadiths undermines the reliability of the Sunnah, and the claim that the Sunnah contradicts the Qur\u2019an or sound reason. The study concludes that the Prophetic Sunnah has been preserved by the will of Allah, that it constitutes a binding legal proof in Islam, and that many Islamic rulings cannot be properly understood without it.
