investigate the effectiveness of a teaching program based on the negotiation approach in developing artistic concepts and art criticism skills among third-grade intermediate female students in Riyadh. The study adopted the experimental method with a quasi-experimental design based on two groups: an experimental group and a control group, with pre- and post-application of the study instruments. The sample consisted of 46 third-grade intermediate female students, equally divided into two groups: 23 students in the experimental group and 23 students in the control group. To achieve the objectives of the study, a teaching program based on the negotiation approach was prepared, along with a test to measure artistic concepts and another test to measure art criticism skills according to the following skills: description, analysis, interpretation, and judgment. After implementing the program and statistically analyzing the data using SPSS, the results revealed statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-test of artistic concepts in favor of the experimental group. The results also showed statistically significant differences in the art criticism skills test in favor of the experimental group, with a large effect size for the teaching program. These findings indicate the effectiveness of the negotiation approach in improving students\u2019 acquisition of artistic concepts and developing their ability to practice art criticism in an organized and objective manner.
