laundering, considered one of the most serious economic crimes affecting the stability of financial and economic systems in various countries. It sheds light on the concept of money laundering, its various stages, and the methods used in this crime. It also reviews its impact on the economy and society. The research also discusses the legal efforts made at the local and international levels to combat this phenomenon and mitigate its negative effects. The research relied on a descriptive analytical approach, analyzing laws and legislation related to money laundering, in addition to reviewing previous studies and international reports on this crime. An inductive approach was also employed to study the methods used in money laundering and their impact on the economy and societies, while analyzing the regulatory procedures and legal mechanisms used to combat it. The research reached several conclusions, most notably that money laundering represents a serious threat to economic stability, as it contributes to increased rates of corruption and organized crime and leads to a weakening of trust in financial institutions. The study also demonstrated that money laundering methods are constantly evolving, making combating it more complex and requiring more sophisticated regulatory strategies. Based on the findings, the study recommends strengthening local and international legislation to keep pace with rapid developments in money laundering methods, as well as developing financial oversight systems by improving mechanisms for early detection of suspicious transactions. The study also emphasizes the importance of international cooperation between countries and the exchange of information and expertise to effectively combat this crime.
